Deaf
Turning Point is committed to reaching and ministering to those in our community who have special needs. We don't want anyone to miss out on learning about the Good News of Jesus Christ. With this goal in mind, we offer a specific ministry outreach to both the Deaf Community and also to those who we consider our Special Friends.
Deaf Ministry:
The Deaf Ministry of Turning Point was established in 1970 under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy Waters, who was pastor at that time. Today, our deaf class meets for a meaningful Bible Study in its LIFE Group at 9:15 AM each Sunday in Room 109. At Turning Point, total communication is taught, as well as speech and sign language. Each Sunday, Worship Service is at 10:15 AM and is interpreted for our deaf friends.
There are regularly scheduled activities for the class and monthly birthday celebrations, as well as their annual Christmas party. In addition, they take annual trips to Deaf Conferences in Toccoa. Our deaf ministry is a vital part of the life of Turning Point.
